Thomas S. Lorey, MD, serves as Strategic Director of National Integrated Services for The Permanente Medical Group (TPMG), Kaiser Permanente Northern California (KPNC). Prior to his current role Dr. Lorey served as Medical Director of KPNC Regional Reference Laboratories, Laboratory Informatics and Technology, and Chair of The Permanente Federation Laboratory Medicine Committee. He currently serves on HHS’s Clinical Laboratory Advisory Committee (CLIAC), the Cervical Cancer Subcommittee of the President’s Cancer Panel, the CDC’s Laboratory Medicine Best Practices Workgroup, and as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Applied Laboratory Medicine.
Dr. Lorey joined Kaiser Foundation Hospital as a resident in 1991 and The Permanente Medical Group in 1995. He obtained his BA in English Literature and BS in Biochemistry from the University of California Davis, and Medical Degree from the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Lorey is Board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.
