Dr. Donna Wolk serves as the Division Director for the of Molecular and Microbial Diagnostics and Development at Geisinger Health. As a Diplomate of the American Board of Medical Microbiology, her professional practice has national and international scope, supporting initiatives in clinical and molecular microbiology and laboratory leadership. She is the lead investigator for Geisinger Center for laboratory innovations and outcomes. Her translational research efforts focus on the impact of diagnostic interventions, with bloodstream infections as a primary focus.
Dr. Wolk is adjunct Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Wilkes University and leads the laboratory medicine best practice initiatives for rapid diagnosis of bacteremia supported by the American Society for Microbiology and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. She is the recipient of the American Society for Microbiology’s BD Award for Clinical Research in Microbiology. To honor her work, impact, and mentorship roles, she was recently featured in the 2018 ASM Press book Women in Microbiology.
