Vice President and Head of Strategic and Portfolio Planning, Siemens Healthineers, Tarrytown, NY

Christopher Tanzi has been with Siemens Healthineers since 2012 and is currently Vice President and Head of Strategic and Portfolio Planning for the organization. In Tanzi’s current role, he leads the global strategic planning process across all of Siemens Healthineers’ Imaging, Diagnostics and Advanced Therapy segments as well as its Regional organizations. His group also functions as an internal consulting team and has led the development of a range of special strategy projects across the company. Prior to his current role, he also led Strategic Planning for Siemens Healthineers’ Diagnostics segment.

Before joining Siemens, Tanzi was the Director of Global Molecular Market Development with Immucor.  At Immucor, he was responsible for both inbound and outbound marketing for Immucor’s molecular diagnostics business. During his tenure, he led commercialization of the first FDA-approved molecular diagnostic for extended blood group antigen typing in Transfusion Medicine.

Prior to joining the medical device industry, Tanzi was a Project Leader and management consultant with the Boston Consulting Group, in its New York office, where most of his project work concentrated in the pharmaceutical industry. Prior to business school, Chris started his career as a Process Engineer with ExxonMobil where he provided global engineering technical and project support at a range of refineries and offshore production platforms.

Tanzi holds an MBA from the Wharton School and BSE in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.  He lives in Westchester County, New York with wife and 3 daughters (ages 7, 9 and 10).
